Experienced .NET developer

Experienced .NET Software Developer required to join agile development team at fast growing cloud software company in Dublin City Centre.

InishTech is a dynamic young cloud software company based in Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 2009, we are a start-up with a difference. As a spin out from Microsoft, we have a proven, established technology platform that’s being used on a daily basis by several hundred customers. We also have the benefits, both business & technological, that come from having Microsoft, the world’s largest software company, as a stakeholder in the company.

In all other respects, however, we’re a start-up through and through. We have a small team of excellent people, with the commitment and the experience to be comfortable in a hard working, fluid environment, where often one needs to wear several hats. The advent of cloud computing is changing the software business in every respect. We have a vision for how software companies can navigate in this new world and make money from their software, and so we are furiously building the next generation of cloud software services.

As a key member of a compact agile engineering team you will:

  • Be challenged to deliver quality Desktop, Server and SaaS applications using WPF, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC
  • Participate in all end to end development activities (from story point estimation, through coding with automated testing, to Azure deployment) in 2 week iterations
  • Solve varied technical challenges in delivering high end SaaS applications on Azure
  • Use the latest software tools (Studio 2008/10, TFS 2008, SQL Server 2008, xUnit.NET, refactoring tools), with freedom to create/select your own as necessary.

You must have:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ hands on OO development experience, some of which must include work on a shipping, commercial software product or service
  • Expertise in .NET 3.x and C# 3.0 (.NET 4 a bonus)
  • Used xUnit, NUnit, or other unit test frameworks
  • A strong understanding of OO design principles and patterns.

Having any of the following would be a distinct bonus:

  • Good knowledge of .NET CLR and framework internals.
  • Developed highly scalable and reliable web applications
  • Experience of working with security protocols and frameworks
  • Used mocking frameworks such as Moq or RhinoMocks
  • Exposure to continuous integration practices and/or products
